What is the Women Techsters Fellowship about?

Women Techsters Fellowship is a 1-year virtual learning program delivered through 6 months of intensive training, a 6-month paid internship and enrollment into a mentorship program to equip women with skills to build tech careers and tech-enabled businesses at zero cost.

How long do I have to wait to get feedback on my application?

You will get a confirmation mail as soon as you apply. When the application closes, all applications will then be reviewed.

How do I apply for the Fellowship?

An application link for the fellowship will be published via our social media platforms and website. Also, A PDF containing the entire application question has been provided so applicants can pre-fill their application before starting with the actual application.

What is the fee for the Fellowship?

The Women Techsters Fellowship is Tuition-free.

What is the Fellowship timeline?

Six months of virtual intensive training and six months of internship (for qualified beneficiaries)

How many hours do I need to commit to learning per day?

Minimum of 4 hours per day

What is the language of instruction?

English is the official language. All instructions, applications, training and results will be delivered in English. We encourage all applicants to have at least basic level of English proficiency.

Is the training physical or virtual?

The training is virtual (Instructor-led)

What do I need to have in place before applying?

Basic requirements include;

Can I get an internship opportunity?

There are internship opportunities available, but they are limited and competitive. However, participating in the intensive 6-month training program will equip you with valuable skills that can enable you to access future opportunities on your own and through our support

Do I need a university degree before I can apply?

No, you do not need a university degree before applying.

Which countries are eligible for the fellowship

The fellowship is currently available in 22 African countries (Nigeria, Ethiopia, Egypt, DR Congo, South Africa, Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Algeria, Sudan, Morocco, Angola, Ghana, Mozambique, Madagascar, Botswana, Gambia, Liberia, Rwanda, Sierra-Leone, Zambia, Zimbabwe)

What courses are available?

Product Design, Product Management, Cybersecurity, Data Science, or Artificial Intelligence, Software Development, 3D animation & Mixed reality (AR & VR), Mobile Development.

Are there other benefits apart from technical training?

Definitely. The Women Techsters Fellowship is an all-encompassing training. In addition to the technical training, beneficiaries are also trained in soft skills that equip them with the necessary skills to thrive in the tech ecosystem. They are also given access to the Women Techsters Community of diverse yet like-minded women across Africa and presented with mentorship opportunities with industry experts.

Is the Women Techsters Fellowship open to all genders?

No, the fellowship is exclusive to the female gender.
